It may be hard to believe, but new homes (big new homes, actually) are selling in certain parts of DC. DCmud is reporting that 46 “embassy-sized” properties are currently being built in Palisades and twenty-two are already under contract.
The homes are part of the Phillips Park development, and the lots range in size from 9,000 to 17,000 square feet. Most are priced around $2 million and will deliver during the next year.
From DCmud:
“The custom-built homes will measure in at 4,500 to 9,000 square feet and sport designs from a variety of architectural firms, including Barnes Vanze, David Jones, Muse and Neumann Lewis Buchanan.”
The site was formerly home to a 26-room, 17,000 square-foot mansion owned by Duncan and Marjorie Phillips, the couple behind the Phillips Collection art museum in Dupont Circle.
