Capital Bikeshare? There Is Now An App For That

While bikeshare parent company Motivate has released apps for systems from New York to the Bay Area, DC area residents and visitors have had to wait for a mobile app for Capital Bikeshare (CaBi). Until now.
A recently-released app, now available for download on iPhone and Android, provides users with real-time map an list data about where available bikes and docks are located, as well as allowing them to track their miles traveled, calories burned and other usage statistics.

Users will also be able to take advantage of special promotions and purchase memberships of various durations. Other user-friendly features include finding weekday morning bike corrals to dock the bike during rush hour, accessing ride codes when unable to use the CaBi key, and push notifications for ride updates.
“The new Capital Bikeshare mobile app will open up new possibilities for CaBi riders– providing a convenient and quick way to find a bike or a dock, keep track of exercise, and make it easier to know that you’ve properly docked your bike,” Capital Bikeshare General Manager Eric Gilliland said in a press release.
