The delivery of the Atlantic Plumbing development in Shaw set the tone for much of the redevelopment in the immediate area, including the impending arrival of a Whole Foods grocer and the looming loss of the Town Danceboutique this summer for future replacement with residences.
However, the Atlantic Plumbing development is not yet complete, a fact UrbanTurf overlooked in a recent rundown of the residential pipeline in the neighborhood.
Construction is well underway at 943-945 Florida Avenue NW (map), where JBG Smith is building the third component of Atlantic Plumbing. The planned-unit developments for the project were initially approved in 2006.

This element of the development will consist of two ten-story towers connected by a seven-story bridge, delivering a total of 256 residential units to the neighborhood. W Street will be extended through the site, creating a pedestrian-prioritizing woonerf. Morris Adjmi Architects is the designer on the project and Eric Colbert and Associates is the architect of record.
The development is expected to deliver in the fourth quarter of 2019.
