The Brooks—a new condominium community at the former site of the Walter Reed campus and the location of DC's newest, soon-to-come Whole Foods grocery store—is 75% sold and headed into a busy spring season. With all of the property’s three bedrooms purchased, and only one two-bedroom + den left, the remaining one-, one- and den and two-bedroom residences will move fast.
Pricing for homes at The Brooks start at $399,900, and models of the remaining homes are available to tour by appointment. The Brooks is offering a $5,000 closing cost credit for buyers who sign a contract by the end of February; and a $10,000 Hometown Heroes incentive for veterans, teachers, nurses, doctors and local DC government employees.
The Parks is located in the heart of upper Northwest DC and will include 100,000 square feet of retail, including the new Whole Foods, restaurants and 20,000 square feet of creative and cultural space. The campus is now open, and the Great Lawn regularly hosts events such as "yappy" hours at the new dog park and fitness classes including Barre and yoga.
The Walter Reed campus is home to many historic buildings, and The Brooks was designed to fit in with that aesthetic—at least from the outside. The exterior has a traditional look, with a red brick façade and concrete casting, while the building’s interiors are entirely modern.
Features and fixtures in the new condos include hardwood floors, shaker style kitchen cabinetry, Bosch stainless steel appliances, porcelain tile backsplashes and Kohler faucets. The residences boast plenty of windows and natural light, and many feature balconies with views of over 10 acres of landscaped green spaces including an Arts Plaza (now open), dog park, Great Lawn and Officer’s Walk.
Residents of The Brooks enjoy a beautiful lobby and roof deck as well as one year of complimentary access to all of the amenities at neighboring The Vale apartments, including a fitness center, yoga studio, co-working space, pet spa and stunning saltwater pool with cabanas. Parking is available at The Brooks as well.
