Another Dupont Circle building is being repurposed for a new use.
The Bauman Family Foundation has filed a historic preservation concept application to convert 2040 S Street NW (map) into a nine-unit residential building. Five of the units will be two-bedrooms with dens, and the remaining units will be split between one- and two-bedrooms. BBGM is the architect.
Located in the Dupont Circle Historic District, the development will involve extensive interior demolition and reconstruction of a prior addition, and it will also require a zoning special exception.
