Deal of the Week: The Chicago Edition
1335 West Altgeld Street
For this installment of Deal of the Week, we leave DC for the week and head up to the windy city to see what type of housing bargains are available in Chicago.
This one-bedroom loft is located in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago in a building that was converted to condos in the early 1990s. The 1,000 square-foot unit has 10-foot high timber ceilings, exposed brick, central air, an in-unit washer/dryer and a deeded parking space. The unit is very spacious for a one-bedroom evidenced by the fact that the bedroom itself measures out at 19 feet by 14 feet.
The price on the condo has been reduced a number of time since it was originally listed and it is now $8,000 under its 2002 purchase price. We don’t know Chicago real estate that well (yet), but this seems like a unit that is squarely in deal territory.
