Best New Listings: Back to School and a Night at the Museum

This week’s Best New Listings is two condos: a Lovejoy Loft and a museum-like three bedroom unit in Friendship Heights, Maryland.

Another One: A One-Bedroom Lovejoy Loft
While UrbanTurf featured one of the Lovejoy Lofts earlier this month, the inclusion of this one-bedroom in today's Best New Listings illustrates just how unique each unit in the Stanton Park converted schoolhouse is. In addition to the expected original features, like white-painted brick walls with a series of oversized windows, exposed HVAC and pipes, and 14-foot ceilings, the corner unit also has few interior walls. A long entry hall creates a foyer area, which has a fire escape-style stair and leads to a laundry closet, as well as a den with a hall closet. Gridded french doors beneath a transom lead into the remainder of the open concept unit, where an L-shaped kitchen with detached breakfast bar floats at the center with a generous loft space above. The bedroom is across from, and shares windows with, the living area. The unit also comes with an interior bike pulley suspension station and an assigned parking space.

Big on Big: A Museum-Worthy Three-Bedroom
This three bedroom condo in Parc Somerset has an ultra-contemporary interior that is finished in a large scale which evokes a museum, with large slate floor tiles throughout much of the unit. The spacious foyer and many of the other living spaces have deep tray ceilings with rectangular recessed lighting around the edges. The huge living room has a wall of windows and a stone fireplace accent wall opposite frosted glass barn doors. An abstract partition separates the formal dining area from the paper clip-shaped kitchen, which has grey marble atop white cabinetry, a wine fridge, a concealed refrigerator, and double faucets. The owner's bedroom has access to a private terrace and a huge custom dressing room closet, while the en-suite bath has large tiles all over the walls and floors, a low double vanity, a separate water closet and a roomy double shower.
