Alexandria’s Live/Work Housing Project
The Lofts at Del Ray Village
DCmud is reporting that work will soon begin on The Lofts at Del Ray Village, a three-story development on Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria that caters to people who can work from home.
The development is the brainchild of Gaver Nichols and, according to DCmud, the four two-bedroom rental units will range in size from 2,053 to 2,949 square feet and there will be 4,500 square feet of office space on the ground floor that can be leased by tenants.
The idea for this project is one that Nichols has had ever since he acquired the property four years ago.
From DCmud:
“We took an empty lot that none of my developer clients wanted,” he said. “I decided to buy it with a couple of guys, took them through the development process and the city rewrote the zoning concept for us to allow for the live/work use concept.”
