Above Asking: The Six-Figure Palisades Premium
In this edition of Above Asking, UrbanTurf revisits two previously-featured listings: a Logan Circle rowhouse that netted $65,000 above asking and a Palisades home that commanded six figures above listing price.
The Six-Figure Palisades Premium
Over in Palisades, this semi-detached house just two blocks from the C&O Canal boasts treetop views and an abundance of green space. The interior is full of functional design features, from the built-in shelving unit in the second bedroom to the cabinet framing a small pass-through window from the dining room to the kitchen. An elevated deck overlooks the backyard, which also has a patio with a pergola and a brick-paved path leading to a two-car garage. After spending less than a week on the market, the home received multiple bids and sold for just over $100,000 above asking.

Loft-Like and Art Deco-Influenced in Logan Circle
Not only did this two-bedroom rowhouse in Logan Circle sell quickly over the summer, it also went for $65,000 above asking. The interior of the two-story house is much more hip and unorthodox than its traditional exterior, with a loft-like steel spiral staircase hovering in the center of the main level, right in front of the kitchen with a wall of windows and a double-height ceiling. Art deco design influence creeps out in the glass block tiles that create a window in the master bath and denote the second bedroom in the basement.
