This weekend was a busy one for new development in Arlington County.
On Saturday, the Arlington County Board approved a 14-story mixed-use building with ninety condominiums atop 1,900 square feet of street-level retail and 112 spaces of underground parking, not far from the Courthouse Metro station.
The 18,380 square-foot site at 2000 Clarendon Boulevard (map), currently the site of an office building, will be redeveloped by Bush Construction Corporation and designed by WDG Architecture.

Two miles away on Columbia Pike, the Board also granted approval to another mixed-use development on Saturday.

Located at the intersection of Columbia Pike and South Barton Street (map), three one-story buildings and a surface parking lot will be replaced with a six-story building containing 105 condos and over 14,500 square feet of street-level retail. There will also be 140 spaces of underground parking spread across two levels. The historic facades of two of the three buildings on-site will be preserved and incorporated into the new development.
Four Mile Run Associates and B.M. Smith & Associates will also improve the streetscape along Columbia Pike and South Barton Street as part of the development. The building was designed by WHA Architecture and Planning.
