49 Units and an Automated Garage: A Planned Mixed-Use Development in Old Town Alexandria
A three-part development is on the boards for Old Town Alexandria that would include residences, live/work units and a mechanized parking garage.
Galena Capital Partners is currently seeking concept approval for three new residential buildings and an automated garage in Alexandria's Parker-Gray historic district.
The first component of the development would deliver a stacked pair of townhouse condos across four stories at 109 S. Patrick Street (map). The second component would deliver a four-story building at 116 S. Henry Street (map) with ground-floor retail, two ground-floor live/work units, and 17 additional residences.
An automated parking garage between the two buildings would have two vehicle turntables upon entry, leading to over 140 spaces. The garage would serve the proposed buildings, as well as be available to the public.
Around the corner at 912-920 King Street (map), another four-story building is planned with ground-floor retail next to three live/work units, and 27 more residential units above. Winstanley Architects and Planners is the designer.
The City of Alexandria Board of Architectural Review is scheduled to consider the projects at their January 22nd meeting. Additional renderings and color elevations are below.
