425 Mass, Car Charging Group and Tesla Motors are hosting an unveiling of DC’s first residential electric vehicle charging station at the 559-unit apartment complex this Wednesday. However, the real draw of the media event is that invitees have the chance to test drive the new Tesla Roadster.
The charging station is a permanent installation at 425 Mass, so if your car runs on watts, now you have a place to charge it up. According to a representative, the building was chosen because of its “location and easy access to downtown living.”
The Tesla Roadster goes from 0 to 60 mph in just under 4 seconds and gets a whopping 245 miles per charge, so you could get from DC to New York City with electricity to burn. Like Kramer, we may put that spec to the test if we get in the driver’s seat on Wednesday.
