Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (WRIT) is partnering with Trammell Crow to develop a 15-story, 270-unit apartment building in Old Town, the Washington Business Journal reported late Wednesday. The building, to be located at First and Fayette streets a block from the Braddock Road Metro (map), is expected to start construction late next year and take two years to be built.
From the Washington Business Journal:
The site is also close to the Braddock Metro Center, a 345,000-square-foot office campus WRIT acquired in September. It’s the second new apartment complex in Northern Virginia for WRIT, which announced plans in June to build a $43.5 million, 150-unit apartment project with Crimson Partners by the Ballston Common Mall.
Trammell Crow is also planning to develop another 360-unit apartment building just down the block, in a partnership with Equity Residential.
