This Week's Find: Loft Living in Former Children's Museum
The den at 215 I Street NE, #101
Buyers who are looking for a loft in the true sense of the word don’t have a lot of choices in DC. This Week’s Find comes pretty close to the real thing, though.
Living area
The 1,840 square-foot two-bedroom plus den listing is located in the Landmark Lofts behind Union Station, a portion of which used to be the Capital Children’s Museum. The unit has a pretty massive 36 by 24-foot living space and very high ceilings (not sure they reach as high as the 18-foot ceilings in the development’s other units, though). The listing also has a a fireplace, a sound system throughout, an outdoor terrace, and it comes with two parking spots. Unclear if the artwork in the den conveys.
Terrace
The one thing that this unit does not come with, however, is a car, and some of the condos at Landmark Lofts have had that amenity attached before. Two years ago, to sweeten the deal on its remaining five units, the developer was offering free SmartCars to buyers that closed on one of the condos before the end of 2009.
