Deal of the Week: Something About Dupont Circle's Willard Street
1731 Willard Street NW, #105
Back in June 2010, UrbanTurf featured a 783 square-foot two-bedroom unit on Dupont Circle’s Willard Street that was the lowest priced unit of its size in the neighborhood at the time. Three months ago, we covered another deal-worthy unit on the same block, an inexpensive one-bedroom listing that was under contract within a few hours of us writing about it.
There must be something about Willard Street as yet another low-priced unit (by Dupont standards) hit the market on the block earlier this week.
The one-bedroom condo is larger than the two units mentioned above, at almost 900 square feet, and it sits on two levels, which is uncommon for one-bedrooms in DC. The living area and small kitchen are on the upper floor, which has hardwood floors and a fireplace, and the master bedroom, which measures 25 feet by 10 feet, takes up most of the lower level.
The listing does have a downside, as it is a short sale, so the eventual buyer will need to go into the purchase process with their eyes open to the frustration that these transactions can incite. However, for the patient buyer, we deem it deal-worthy.
