DC Residents to Pay More For Water
Electricity is not the only thing that DC residents will be paying more for this year.
On Thursday, the city’s Water and Sewer Authority approved a budget that will increase household water bills by an average of $6.50 per month. Last year, water bills also increased, by an average of $8 per month per household.
The reasons behind the increase, according to DC Water’s George Hawkins, are to fund infrastructure repairs (like replacement of pipes) across the city.
