Best New Listings: Three Levels in Columbia Heights, A Non-Traditional Layout in Shaw
In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we check out a three-level rowhouse in Columbia Heights, and a Shaw home that is laid out vertically.
Three Levels on Meridian Place
Our favorite aspects of this Columbia Heights rowhome are the kitchen and lower level, two parts of a house that are not often considered “favorites” by most (well, at least lower levels aren’t at the top of the list). The open kitchen has a marble island, cool cabinetry and a good deal of counterspace for a buyer that likes to cook. The lower level looks like it will be the main room for hanging out, and even has a bar and sink for entertaining. The listing has room for parking as well as green features such as efficient A/C.

A Non-Traditional Layout in Shaw
The layout of this Shaw house is a little non-traditional, but we are big fans. Renovated in 2009 with reclaimed wide plank pine floors, the home has a living room and kitchen on the main level, a bedroom on the second and a loft space on the top floor that could be used as another bedroom. Out back is a gravel fenced-in patio, and the listing comes with deeded parking.
- Full Listing: 610 S Street NW (map)
- Price: $599,000
- Bedrooms: One plus loft
- Bathrooms: One
- Listing Agent: Sheryl Blank-Barnes, TTR Sotheby’s International Realty
