5 DC Zip Codes Where You Are Paying Above List Price
Later this week, UrbanTurf will be running an article about the fact that the competition in DC’s housing market is resulting in homes regularly selling for above their asking price.
In preparation, RealEstate Business Intelligence provided us with a list of the DC zip codes with the highest average sales-to-original-list-price ratio for homes that sold in 2013. RBI’s Corey Hart confirmed that if if a zip code has a 98.5 to 99.5 percent sales-to-original-list-price ratio, a number of homes are selling for above asking price in that area.
Here are the five zip codes in DC with the highest ratios so far this year. Most will not surprise you:
- 20005 — Includes portions of Logan Circle and Thomas Circle — 99.4 percent
- 20017 — Includes portions of Brookland and Michigan Park — 99.2 percent
- 20002 — Includes portions of Capitol Hill, Bloomingdale, Edgewood, Eckington, and Trinidad — 99.1 percent
- 20001 — Includes portions of Bloomingdale, LeDroit Park, Shaw, Mount Vernon Square — 99.1 percent
- 20009 — Includes portions of Logan Circle, Columbia Heights, U Street Corridor and Adams Morgan — 98.5 percent
