$18 Million: Bethesda Mansion Becomes Montgomery County's Most Expensive Home
5517 Pembroke Lane
The luxurious trappings of what is now the most expensive home on the market in Montgomery County are many, but here is a quick sampling: an indoor basketball court, a wine cellar, eight garages with parking for eleven cars, and a spacious separate apartment for guests.
Dining Room
The 20,000 square-foot home, now listed for $18 million, was built by and for a local developer in 2005 with the help of architect Glenn Fong and interior designer Barry Dixon. The rooms in the six-bedroom home do not seem to end. In addition to a dining room, living room, family room, breakfast room, library, office and kitchen on the main level, there is a media room, club room, wine cellar and “hunt” room (currently filled with taxidermy) on the home’s lower level.

Library
The house has an exercise room that overlooks an indoor basketball court, as well as a heated swimming pool with a pool house that would qualify as an apartment in most parts of DC. Guests can stay in the home’s separate apartment, and there will likely not be a shortage of parking with eight different garages.
