Under Contract: Under a Week For a Condo, Over a Month in Georgetown
In Under Contract, UrbanTurf looks back at properties it has featured recently that were snatched up by DC’s alert buyers.
Five Days in Petworth
When we wrote about this home in Best New Listings, we pointed out that the three-bedroom is a nice contrast to the 18-month renovation that is often seen on the market in Petworth. At least one buyer agreed as the rowhouse went under contract five days after it was listed The living room has a fireplace and a custom mantel as well the original pocket doors, and it leads into a dining room with a large bay window. Downstairs is an in-law suite with a kitchen and bathroom, and out back there is parking for two cars.

1,250 Square Feet Near Convention Center
This two-bedroom, two-bath unit sits on one of the upper floors of a boutique condo building at 9th and M Street NW. The large windows flood the living space with natural light, but UrbanTurf’s favorite aspect is the dining room with a wood-burning fireplace, as two-bedrooms in DC often don’t dedicate much space to a dining area. The listing found a buyer in just over a week.

Mid-Century Modern in Hollin Hills
The Hollin Hills neighborhood in Alexandria is home to a number of houses that wouldn’t be out of place in the background on Mad Men. This three-bedroom was designed by Charles Goodman, a 20th century architect who designed a number of mid-century modern homes in the neighborhood. The highlights of the listing include floor-to-ceiling windows in almost every room, a dining area that overlooks the surrounding decks, and a spacious master bedroom with a balcony, vaulted ceilings, space for a seating area, and a walk-in closet. The listing found a buyer in a week.
