This Week’s Find: Where Jane Fonda Put Her Feet Up

Logan Circle Victorians have their fair share of interesting history, but the current owners of This Week’s Find still get mail from a resident with a surprising (for DC) celebrity connection: Jane Fonda’s daughter, Vanessa Vadim. The film producer used to live at the home that played host to the aerobics queen as well as luminaries like Ethel Kennedy.

Though renovated recently, the current owners maintained quite a few original details, including the wide plank pine floors, pocket doors, plaster moldings and a wood-burning fireplace. Renovations brought in marble counters, a stainless steel ceiling in the kitchen, and a new roof. The door to the powder room on the first floor is from the Jefferson Hotel, the historic Beaux Arts hotel near The White House.

Cozy hang-out options (only one of which conveys) can be found throughout the 1,580 square-foot three-bedroom home: lounge chairs on the roof deck, a couch in the bay window, bar stools at the kitchen island, rocking chairs on the back porch, a claw foot bathtub in one of the bathrooms.

The master suite has a vaulted ceiling and and is brightened up by nearly floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition to the tub, the master bath has an extra-long shower that appears to span the width of the room (and is against a body-length window, which luckily looks out at a brick wall). There is also an in-law suite on the lower level, with a full bath and large storage room, and two parking spaces in the back. Unfortunately for those that used to sweat to her videos, Jane Fonda will not be at any of the showings.
