The Price to Live in the West Loop of Chicago is Revealed
Last Friday, we asked our readers to guess the price of an enormous loft in Chicago’s West Loop. Here is a brief description for those that missed the post.
“The two-bedroom, two-bath loft measures out at approximately 3,500 square feet, and with 35-foot ceilings and a 40-foot deep living room, throwing the football around when it is too cold to go outside is by no means out of the question. The kitchen has a bar with three stools, Viking appliances and a large wine chiller. To really make you feel like you are living the bohemian artist work-at-home lifestyle, the property has a private entrance through a loading dock.”
Take a look:
So how much will this spacious loft set you back? (Drum roll please…) The price: $999,000. Here is the listing.
The guesses ranged from a low of $445,000 to a high of $1.495 million. (The listing price conveniently falls almost right between those two prices.) Congratulations to Liz, Paul and John Stubbs for all guessing the price right on the nose.
Perhaps our favorite guess was from Jag, though, who made appropriate reference to the costs related to paying for Chicago’s brutal winters: “$1.25 mil to own; $1.7 mil to heat over the life of the loan.”
