Restaurateur David Winer's Shaw Rowhouse Hits the Market for $2.395M
905 M Street NW
One of the restaurateurs behind Logan Tavern, Commissary, and The Heights has listed his Shaw rowhouse for $2.395 million.
David Winer started EatWell DC back in 2003 with the opening of Logan Tavern, one of the first casual eateries to open in Logan Circle. Over the past decade, EatWell DC has opened a number of other restaurants around the city, including Commissary, The Heights, Grillfish and The Pig.
Winer’s high-ceilinged 19th-century Victorian at 905 M Street NW (map) has been immaculately renovated. There is a large living room, a one-bedroom, lower level rental unit, a landscaped garden and a roof deck. Winer’s favorite features, however, are the bedrooms and, of course, the kitchen.
“I love the scale of the master bedroom,” Winer wrote to UrbanTurf. “I use the large second bedroom as my office.” The kitchen, which Winer describes as dark and sultry, has Thermador appliances, a six-burner gas cook-top, and an antique mirror backsplash.
As for where he is headed next, Winer won’t be going that far. He is looking for a high-floor apartment with a view a bit further east.
