Multiple Bids: Victorian on the U Street Corridor
In Multiple Bids, UrbanTurf showcases homes that we think will attract the attention of several buyers. This week, we feature a medium-sized, moderately priced Victorian just north of U Street.
The interior of the three-bedroom home, renovated in 1994, is modest with a living room that is open and malleable. The master bedroom is well sized, and the two smaller bedrooms are being used as a TV-watching room and a nursery. Our favorite area was the backyard, which is private, paved with brick, and has lush vegetation off to the side.
To indicate just how much things have changed on the U Street Corridor in the past 15 years, this home sold, apparently in a renovated state, back in 1998 for $160,000. Still, the current list price and price per square foot is a bit lower than comparable homes that sold in the area recently and as such, we think it will attract quite a bit of attention. More details and photos below.

- Principal and Interest: $2,511
- Property Taxes: $352
