Louis at 14th and U Could Deliver By the End of the Year
Rendering of Louis
Louis, JBG’s under-construction apartment project at the southwest corner of 14th and U Street NW, is planned for completion by December 2013 or the beginning of 2014. JBG broke ground last year, launching with a mysterious campaign featuring an irreverent Louis XIV-like character.
Since then, the highly-trafficked corner has been a construction zone. However, the end is now in sight: a representative from the firm told UrbanTurf that they hope to deliver/rent the first units by the end of the 2013 or the beginning of 2014. The concrete structure should be complete next month, so passers-by will be able to get a better sense of what the finished corner will look like.
The 9-story structure will have 267 apartments and, perhaps most excitingly for everyone in the neighborhood, a 15,000-square-foot Trader Joe’s will be anchoring the southern end of the site. No word yet on a specific date that the much-loved grocery store will open its doors.
