"If I Had $1.5 Million" Listing: FHA's Dave Stevens' Home Hits the Market
For this week's If I Had $1.5 Million listing, we get a special sneak preview of the home of FHA head honcho Dave Stevens before it hits the market. In July, Stevens assumed the role as the new FHA commissioner for HUD after serving for many years as the head of Long & Foster.
The five-bedroom house sits on about an acre of land in Oakton, Virginia, a half-hour drive from downtown DC. At approximately 7,900 square feet, the three-level property is quite massive. The main level has a gourmet kitchen that opens to a large family room with a stone fireplace and then leads out to the rear deck. On this same level is a library, formal living and dining room, and a sun room with an enormous Palladian window that overlooks the backyard (see below). The upper level has four bedrooms including the master suite. The lower level of the home includes the fifth bedroom, an exercise room, and a bar and media area. In addition to the property itself, one of the most attractive aspects of the listing is the expansive yard that offers a great deal of privacy for the next owner. More details and photos below.
