Renderings Released of National Harbor's First Apartment Project, Delivery in 2015

On Wednesday morning, Peterson Companies and Bozzuto Development Company broke ground on The Esplanade, a 262-unit apartment building in National Harbor at 250 American Way (map).
While National Harbor has a few condo buildings and townhouses, The Esplanade is the first apartment complex for the area. National Harbor falls in the category of “greenfield” development, where an entire neighborhood springs up all at once.
The $70 million project will take about a year and a half to complete, and the developers estimate that the project will deliver in early 2015. The units in the project, designed by Heffner Architects, will vary in size from studios to two-bedrooms, and several will have terraces and patios. Amenities include a golf simulator, billiards table and game room, and a wine lounge. A recently released rendering of the exterior is above.
