Best Open Houses: Kalorama, Capitol Hill and Berkley
In this week’s edition of Best Open Houses, we feature an extra-wide three-bedroom row house in Capitol Hill, a low-priced sunny two-bedroom in Kalorama and a four-bedroom in Berkley with a solarium-like master bedroom.
Extra-Wide Three-Bedroom Row House in Capitol Hill

1346 Pennsylvania Avenue SE (map)
This three-bedroom “extra wide” porch front row house has a number of great features. The custom kitchen on the main level has a great archway entrance that opens into the living room. The master bedroom on the upper level has a large walk-in closet and a private sitting room. And the lower lever suite has another kitchen and a private entrance. The home also has four fireplaces and private parking in the rear. The open house is Sunday, March 7th from 2 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
Low-Priced Sunny Two-Bedroom in Kalorama

1831 Belmont Road NW, #404 (map)
For $409,000, we challenge you to find better bang for your buck for a two-bedroom condo in this neighborhood. This unit, located in between Adams Morgan and Kalorama, is not huge by two-bedroom standards, but it has a number of great amenities including a gourmet kitchen, renovated bathroom, in-unit washer/dryer and the seller will pay for six months on-site parking for the eventual buyer. The open house is Sunday, March 7th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
Four-Bedroom Home in Berkley With Large Solarium-Like Master Bedroom

4823 V Street NW (map)
The coolest thing about this four-level home in Berkley has got to be the master suite area on the top floor that has massive solarium-like walls that offer amazing views. The four-bedroom home also has a lot of room for entertaining including a large eat-in kitchen and a flagstone backyard. The open house is Sunday, March 7th from 1 to 4pm. That two-bedroom in Kalorama looks like a steal.
$500/sf for a 2br is not a steal.
It is one of the lowest priced two-bedrooms in the neighborhood.
That’s like saying a 400sf studio at $250k is a good deal.
Just because the sales price is less than comps, it doesn’t mean you’re getting your money’s worth.
The solarium looks pretty amazing, although as a master bedroom you would be up at the crack of dawn without curtains.
