Best New Listings: Mount Pleasant, U Street Corridor and Del Ray
In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we look at a one-bedroom co-op at the intersection of Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant, a three-bedroom townhome in The Cat in the Hat’s old neighborhood and a two-bedroom bungalow not far from The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray.
One-Bedroom Co-op at Intersection of Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant
This 650 square-foot co-op sits in a building right at the intersection of Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant just off of Columbia Road. Most of the square footage is configured in the main living area, and the unit has new windows in addition to an updated bathroom. The monthly fees include taxes and heat, and unlike a lot of co-ops on the market, there is no underlying mortgage. The corner unit is priced well and looks to be a good starter home for a first-time buyer.

Three-Bedroom Townhome in The Cat in the Hat’s Old Neighborhood
Just over a week ago, we talked with Billy Smith, one of the individuals that helped build the Harrison Square townhouse project in the U Street Corridor back in 2000. He spoke about how different the area was a decade ago and interesting characters like The Cat in the Hat who defined the neighborhood. This three-bedroom listing is one of the townhomes located at the Harrison Square project, and in addition to a multi-level floorplan and three good-sized bedrooms, it has hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, a small deck and an attached garage.

Two-Bedroom Bungalow Blocks From The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray
Anyone that reads UrbanTurf regularly knows that we are big fans of the homes in Del Ray, so this two-bedroom front-porch bungalow not far from The Avenue was a fairly easy choice for Best New Listings. The house has the original pine floors, a fireplace, and a two-car brick driveway, but we would probably spend most of our time in the hot tub on the back deck. For the sweet tooth, the listing is just a couple blocks from famed custard shop The Dairy Godmother.
