The Best Listing of the Year (For Mere Mortals)
This week UrbanTurf is taking a look back at the best that DC’s residential real estate market had to offer in 2009. From the best deals to the best trends to, of course, the best listings, we believe we have sussed out the cream of the crop.
This year’s best new listing is a 1,600-square-foot, two-bedroom condo in the U Street Corridor that was on the market for all of three days back in September. The unit sits on the top two floors of a renovated Victorian near 9th and T Street. The living area is spacious with a large set of bay windows and a master bedroom also features an equally impressive set of windows. As we noted back then, the only downside for this property was that it didn’t have a parking space. However, buyers didn’t seem to mind that it lacked that amenity: Originally listed for $449,000, the competition was so intense for the home, that it sold for $11,000 over the listing price.
