Twelve years later, Barnes and Noble is returning to Georgetown.

Georgetown Metropolitan reported on Tuesday that the Instagram account for the national bookstore chain stated that the Georgetown store will open its doors in mid-June. News came at the beginning of the year that the bookstore was returning to the neighborhood.

The new Barnes and Noble location will be the old Barnes and Noble location. The national bookseller is returning to 3040 M Street NW (map) where it was until it closed its doors back in 2012. As Georgetown Met noted: "Surely that must be a record for a gap between the time a store occupied the exact same location?"
