An Image of Relief For The 115 Degree Heat Index
The word “hot” doesn’t begin to do justice to the sweatbox that DC has become during recent days. With a heat index that could be in excess of 115 degrees today, UrbanTurf provides an image of relief.
In April 2010, we wrote about the underwater restaurant at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island (about 400 miles off the coast of Sri Lanka), which the hotel had converted into a bedroom suite to celebrate the restaurant’s five-year anniversary.
The restaurant is encased in plexiglass and sits about five meters below the surface of the Indian Ocean. (Apparently, it can get so bright during the lunch hour that diners have to wear sunglasses.) Although it is no longer an option as a place for people to rest their head, we wouldn’t mind spending our lunch hour there on brutal days like this one.
