Adams Morgan Office Building Sells, Larger Residential Development Planned
The Transcentury Building today, via Google Maps.
Last year, the Murillo Malnati Group filed plans to turn the Transcentury Building in Adams Morgan into a 47-unit residential development. Now, those plans have changed a little bit.
On Monday, it was announced that Murillo Malnati Group sold the vacant office building at 1724 Kalorama Road NW (map) to Bellevue LLC. UrbanTurf has learned that the new owner plans to redevelop the building into a project with 48 to 55 residential units, four parking spaces and a two-story addition. Marcus & Millichap arranged the sale and Greysteel is handling the financing.

When Murillo Malnati filed plans with the Board of Zoning Adjustment the team noted that they couldn’t feasibly add underground parking to the structure, which doesn’t have a basement, so it will be interesting to see how parking is incorporated into the new development.
