Former Silver Spring Office Building to Become 102-Unit Condo Project: Figure 1

ProMark Development and architecture firm BKV Group are converting a former office building in downtown Silver Spring into a 102-unit condo project, UrbanTurf has learned. ProMark’s head of development Peter McLaughlin told UrbanTurf that the project will deliver in about a year.

For years, 1320 Fenwick Lane (map) served as an office building, but was vacated within the past year. ProMark plans to construct one and two-bedroom condos that will be on the smaller side, both in size and price. The average square footage will come in at around 600 square feet and the average price will sit below $300,000.

“Approximately two-thirds of the units will be one-bedrooms,” McLaughlin said. W.C. & A.N Miller will be handling sales for the project.

The conversion of office buildings into residences seems to be catching on in the region. In July, the Arlington County Board approved plans to convert Crystal Plaza 6, a vacant office building in Crystal City into a 252-unit, micro apartment project from Vornado and communal office developer WeWork.
