Yesterday’s Deal of the Week Already Under Contract
“Blink, fast house in Under Contract.”
That was reader JTS’s comment on yesterday’s featured Deal of the Week. JTS was referring to Under Contract, our weekly roundup of properties we have featured on UrbanTurf that have since been sold. He couldn’t have been more right about yesterday’s property, which we learned today has already gone under contract. 1524 Gales Street NE, which is located a couple blocks from the H Street Corridor, was listed last Thursday and went under contract yesterday, for a total of five days on the market.
Not bad for the buyer, who can now call an 1,800 square-foot, architect-designed three-bedroom row house in a hot neighborhood home. Did we mention the roof deck?
See yesterday’s post for more information about what we called “An Architect’s Three-Bedroom Near the H Street Corridor”.

The property looks beautiful, the architect paid a lot of attention to detail. She used a lot of high end materials to create a sophisticated polished look. I’m real proud of my little sister!
wow. This is proof that if you build it, they will come…. even to Gales Street behind low income housing.
This property showed beautifully. Third level was a stunning open master suite with balcony. great job to the architect!
Who’s “they”? The neighborhood has been gentrifying even before we moved in (2 doors down from this spectacular house) back in 2005. The Rosedale neighborhood is really the best deal you can get in the city. We bought our rowhouse for $157k and less than a year later it appraised for $225k. Kudos to the guy who’s under contract to buy 1516 Gales for $125k (3 BR). But if I were the one who bought the 3 BR condo at 15th & Gales for $399k (at least that was the offered price), after seeing 1524 Gales, I’d be kicking myself…
