What X Rents You: The Vacation Loft Edition
In a special edition of What X Rents You, UrbanTurf scrolled through Airbnb and found a few lofts for rent in interesting locations throughout the country.
An Artist’s Loft in Brooklyn
This short-term rental in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn has the helter skelter vibe that is expected in a loft, with walls made of shelves, ladders leading up to sleeping areas, and a chaos of pennants, hanging plants, and art materials strewn about. A bedroom/sitting area and an artist’s studio are lofted on the second story. The whole loft rents for $195 a day.

- Rent: $195 per day

15 Minutes From Hollywood
This Los Angeles loft is the most colorful and vibrant of the options featured today, and looks as though it has been carefully planned and designed. Though the owners retained the loft structure in the former bank, with exposed beams, exposed brick and visible piping running across the ceiling, they divided the space logically and permanently, it seems. Walls separate the bedroom from the living room, but stop short of the ceiling, giving the home an open, “lofty” vibe. Instead of the whole place, this rental is just for a room.

- Rent: $60 a night
- Bedrooms: One

Chicago Penthouse Loft With Custom Built-Ins
This 1,400-square-foot loft is kitted out with custom furniture and built-ins, including things like a hidden record storage area. Posh touches include an elevator that opens right up to the living room, and large windows that look out onto the skyscraper-filled city. These touches come at a price as this unit is the most expensive offering featured today.
- Full Listing: North Ogden Avenue, Chicago (map)
- Rent: $298 per day
- Bedrooms: Two
- Bathrooms: Two
