Velocity Condos Preview this Weekend

by Mark Wellborn

UrbanTurf received word this afternoon that the 200-unit Velocity condo development in the Capitol Riverfront will be hosting a preview this weekend which means that you can schedule a tour of one of its units.

Located at 1025 First Street SE, Velocity offers studios and 1BRs from the low $300s, 1BR/Dens from the low $400s, 2BRs from the high $400s and 2BR/Dens from the upper $400s. The units have the usual luxury condo package (granite counters, stainless steel appliances), but there are two other amenities that caught our eye: Free parking and a pool and sundeck on the roof.

So, any word on the actual delivery date?  The folks at Velocity have been saying 4th quarter 2009 for 2 years now.  It looks like they are getting close to completion - they must have an actual day, or at least a month in mind for delivery.

We are hearing the same thing. Delivery between September and December ‘09.

Velocity and all the new condo and apartment buildings around the ballpark are in Southeast.

Saw the model this weekend.  It looks great.  However, I think these condos are a bit pricey given the market.  The 1bdrm/den starts in the $400k range. I hope the prices drop.
