As the high-end housing market in DC churns, luxury homeowners in DC continue to take advantage.
On Monday, a 6,800 square-foot mansion on Embassy Row that long ago served as the Libyan Embassy hit the market for $6.485 million. The home, purchased by Keith Powell, the head of a ship brokerage firm, in 2007, was renovated over the course of several years with the help of name brand designers and architects like Ann Sacks and Barnes Vanze.

The five-bedroom home features luxury offerings ranging from radiant heat flooring to an elevator to a garage that has a heated driveway. The stand-out features, however, are the living and entertainment room on the home’s upper level as well as the roof terrace, an uncommon feature for homes in this section of the city.
