Deal of the Week: Multi-Story Victorian That Needs Updating

This installment of Deal of the Week needs a bit of work, but the potential for a beautiful end result may make it all worthwhile.

Rough floors, chipped paint and general griminess may deter some potential buyers from this home. The dingy home is being sold as-is, and will likely require several months (and many dollars) of investment to shine.

However, this seven-bedroom, four-story Victorian has the potential to be quite stunning. Bay windows and multiple fireplaces are just asking to be spruced up. Also, according to the listing, the home is ready to be divided into two, possibly three, units, providing a couple sources of rental income.

The location, close to the Convention Center and one block away from the booming 9th Street Corridor, is also a plus. As evidenced by the numerous cranes around, the neighborhood is undergoing a certain transformation. Hopefully, this house will transform right along with it.
