Best New Listings: Wine Cooler, Estate Sale, and Contemporary Alexandria
In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, UrbanTurf looks at a wide rowhouse in Lanier Heights with a posh amenity, an estate sale in the Eckington area, and a rare contemporary home in Alexandria.

Wide Rowhouse in Lanier Heights With a Posh Amenity
At some point, this rowhouse was renovated in a luxurious manner. Besides the fancy kitchen appliances and Brazilian hardwood floors, the lower level reveals an amenity that appeals to the well heeled: a 150-bottle wine cooler. While not a full wine cellar, the lower level feels like a lounge, with comfy seating, a couple stools and a bar. The bathrooms are also notably nice, with a free-standing tub in one and an extra-large shower, complete with a bench, in another.

Estate Sale of an Eckington Victorian
For those who want to get into the ever-more-expensive Bloomingdale/Eckington neighborhood, this property, an estate sale that is on the market as-is, offers a way at a fairly reasonable price. There are some aspects of the home that would benefit from renovations, like the worn out floors, outdated bathrooms, and the kitchen. But the 1,494-square foot Victorian has similar bones to the surrounding homes, which makes us think that it will have no trouble attracting attention.

A Contemporary Breaks From Tradition in Alexandria
Alexandria is one of the oldest areas around, with the earliest settlement taking root in the 1600s. As such, the town is full of historic homes that evoke the revolutionary era. That’s why UrbanTurf was so taken by this new listing, which is utterly modern. With floor-to-ceiling windows, floating stairs, a shiny kitchen, and metal banisters, the home is clean, bright and open. A few cozy elements, like a fenced-in grassy backyard, curved ceiling, and TV-watching nook, soften it up.

Whew! $900,000.00 for the 18th street house. Nice, but can see someone making some upgrades, but they would already be paying almost $1 mil for the house!
