Best New Listings: Logan East and Car Barn

  • February 21, 2010

This week’s Best New Listings include a two-bedroom bachelor pad in Logan East and a spacious one-bedroom at the Car Barn in Capitol Hill.

Two-Bedroom Bachelor Pad in Logan East

1124 10th Street NW, #1A (map)

  • Price: $619,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Year Renovated: 2002

This unit will probably attract the attention of some well-off young bachelors/bachelorettes in the DC area given its spacious layout and high-end finishes and appliances. The two-bedroom plus den condo has a large living area with a pretty spectacular kitchen that has a massive ten-foot island and Miele and Sub-Zero appliances. Both bedrooms are large and the den would make a great home office. No parking, but the seller will pay for six months of rental parking for the eventual buyer. For the full listing, click here.

Well-Priced One-Bedroom at the Car Barn in Capitol Hill

1457 A Street NE, #1457 (map)

  • Price: $309,000
  • Bedrooms: One
  • Bathrooms: One
  • Square Footage: 732
  • Year Built: 1980

This is the second unit that we have featured at the Car Barn in the last couple weeks, so in our humble opinion, there are some good properties on the market at the Capitol Hill development. Today we look at a pretty spacious one-bedroom condo that has hardwood floors throughout, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace and an in-unit washer/dryer. The listing description notes that the seller reserves the right to accept/reject “any offer whatsoever,” so it looks like negotiating on the list price could be tough. Logan Circle place looks quite nice, but a parking spot is critical in this area. Six months of rental parking is a start, but the eventual owner will probably want a permanent space if they own a car.

the seller *always* has the right to accept or reject any offer that they get, period. so what’s different here?

So Logan East is what we’re calling it?

“Logan East”?? hahaha Isn’t that Shaw? which by the way is not a bad neighborhood.
I think I’m gonna start calling my neighborhood, “Georgetown Northeast” or “Kalorama North”

These neighborhood names are cracking up.  Last week, I think this blog called a house in the vicinity of RFK Stadium “Capitol Hill.”
