Deanwood Metro Redevelopment
Deanwood
Although WMATA's board voted to put the 1.6-acre Park and Ride surface lot at Deanwood Metro station up for redevelopment in 2018, the agency has not yet released a development solicitation. At the time, Metro staff recommended a 160-unit development with 10,000 square feet of retail — replacing the current park & ride lot. In 2024, WMATA started seeking a map amendment to rezone the WMATA-owned properties located at the Deanwood Metro station and bus loop facility to help facilitate mixed-use development around the station.
