Sursum Corda Redevelopment

A multi-phase residential project that will bring almost 1,150 residential units to NoMa. The development, proposed by the Sursum Corda Cooperative Association and Boston-based Winn Development Company, will be built on a site bordered by First, M and L Street NW, west of North Capitol Street. The project will consist of five residential buildings totaling 1,142 units, and will be built over two to three phases. It will be located on the site of Sursum Corda, a 199-unit non-profit housing cooperative built in 1968. Per the Mid City East Small Area Development Plan, there will be 196 affordable units with the project that will not exceed 60 percent AMI. 136 of the affordable units are intended for the current residents. Also in line with the plan, the new development will include park space and other community amenities.
