An application recently filed with Montgomery County seeks to extend the validity of a plan to redevelop a portion of the 26-acre former GEICO site bounded by Western Avenue, Willard Avenue and Friendship Boulevard with 200 townhomes and 300 apartments. Approval was initially given for this redevelopment plan way back in 1998.
