UrbanTurf Reader Asks: Am I Missing Something About Hillcrest?
The overwhelming response that last week’s UrbanTurf Reader Asks garnered with the question “Is H Street Worth It?” has resulted in another neighborhood-oriented question from a reader. In this week’s installment, a home buyer inquires about the housing stock and ambiance of the Hillcrest neighborhood.
“Driving around looking for a new home last week, my realtor took me to the Hillcrest neighborhood near Anacostia. Suffice to say, I was fairly blown away by the homes over there. Green lawns, great porches and the homes themselves rival anything we looked at in upper Northwest, and at much lower prices. Am I missing something here? Does Hillcrest have a seedy underbelly that I did not see?”
