$350,000 a Year: Arlington's Very Well-Off Millennials and Baby Boomers: Figure 1

Zillow recently published the results of a study which found that Arlington has the country’s largest concentration of millennial- and baby boomer-led households which earn over $350,000 annually.

8.7 percent of millennial households in Arlington bring in more than $350,000 annually — nearly a full percentage higher than in San Francisco, home of the second-largest concentration of rich millennials. Out of all Arlington baby boomers, 7.9 percent earn more than $350,000 annually. As for DC proper, it wasn’t very far behind in the rankings. From the report:

The city of Washington, D.C. was third on the list of cities with the highest concentration of wealthy boomers (6.1 percent of boomer households in the nation’s capital earn more than $350,000 per year). The District of Columbia ranked ninth on the list of cities with the highest share of rich millennial households (2.8 percent).

These findings are based on a review of generational income data for 73 cities across the United States. Millennials are defined as those 34 years old and younger.
