Fivesquares Development has plans to develop a 14-acre mixed-use community atop the Metro station’s parking lot and the surrounding land. The first phase of the development will break ground in summer 2018, when the development team will begin expanding the Metro parking garage to replace the 412 parking spaces that will be lost. The individual buildings, which will each require separate approval from the County Planning Department, will likely begin breaking ground in 2019.
