Gallaudet University and JBG Smith plan to six-acres of university-owned parcels along 6th Street NE, featuring 1,136-1,769 residential units, 135,000 square feet of retail and 63,000 square feet of office space, built in four phases. The project would be designed incorporating DeafSpace principles in line with the school's status as the world's only liberal arts university that instructs bilingually in both English and American Sign Language. Future Green Studio is the landscape architect, Eric Colbert & Associates is the architect of record for Parcels 2 and 3, and Hall McKnight is a consulting architect on the entire development.
