Lantian Development and 1788 Holdings are partnering on this large-scale redevelopment project in Rockville. The two firms recently acquired a 31-acre, seven office building site in Shady Grove for $50 million, and are proposing a mixed-use project that will include offices, retail- including a grocery store, a hotel and residential space. The massive space is bordered by Gaither Road to the north, Shady Grove Road to the west and extends all the way back to Choke Cherry Road to the south. It’s within a mile of the Shady Grove Metro station. The project will be split into two phases. The first phase covers about a third of the site, starting at Choke Cherry Road and extending north. Both buildings located in this space will be demolished. Phase 2 will incorporate redeveloping the other five buildings.
