Urban Atlantic has filed a large tract review with DC to redevelop the former Boys Town campus at 4801 Sargent Road NE into 166 single-family semi-detached homes. As part of the site work for the development, Urban Atlantic will raze many of the existing structures on the 12-acre plot, but plans to adaptively reuse the school building in the middle of the campus, and create a large open space with the new development. All of the new residential units will be for-sale, with 10% set aside as affordable under the city's inclusionary zoning requirements. Boys Town, which was founded in Nebraska over a century ago, ceased operations at the DC campus last year.
